Big News

Welcome back everyone.  I have had a great summer, but I am looking forward to getting back to school.  This year I will be teaching English 9, English 11, Speech, Art, and Senior Lit.

English 9 will be focusing on the elements of literature, grammar, and writing.  We will be working on a year long writing project where each student will create a multigenre novel.

English 11 will be focusing on American literature specifically.  We will using what we know of the elements of literature to analyze and better understand the literature that has been created in the United States.  In this class, the writing focus will be a year long autobiography project.

Art is going to be set up a little differently this year.  Art will be semester long class, only.  We changed this so that as many people as possible will be able to take the class.  We will be working with a wide variety of material including clay, textiiles, watercolor, pastel and many others.  There will be a $5 materials fee for this class.

In speech we work on the fundamentals of public speaking, and study communication through the media.

I am so glad to pick up Senior Lit again this year.  Senior Lit is a one semester class.  We will be studying the three main genres of literature; Fiction, Poetry, and Drama.  There will be an opportunity to take this class as a duel enrollment class.  I am working with the University of Idaho, and this class can be taken for college credit as English 175.
